AI-powered activity descriptions

Activity Studio can now help you write tight, specific activity descriptions that fit the Common App character limit and actually communicate what you did.

By Ricardo Mello

The Common App gives you 150 characters to describe each activity. That's about one sentence. Most students either waste characters on generic descriptions ("Helped organize events for the club") or cram too much in and end up with something unreadable.

How the AI assist works

When you add an activity in Activity Studio, you can write a longer description of what you did. The AI reads your description, identifies the most impactful details, and generates a 150-character version that leads with specifics. "Organized" becomes "Led 12-member team to plan 3 campus events reaching 400+ students." Same activity, much stronger description.

You always have final edit control. The AI suggests, you decide. We trained the suggestions on patterns from successful applications, so the output tends to emphasize measurable impact, leadership scope, and concrete outcomes. The things admissions officers actually look for when scanning your activity list.
