Sticker price is misleading. A school that costs $75,000 per year might actually cost your family $25,000 after grants and scholarships. But finding that out usually means filling out each school's net price calculator individually. We built the Cost Calculator so you can compare net costs across all your schools in one place.
What the estimator uses
- IPEDS financial aid distributions by income bracket
- Average grant and scholarship awards per institution
- In-state vs. out-of-state tuition differentials
- Room, board, and fees included in total cost calculations
You enter your household income range once and the estimator applies it across every school on your list. The estimates aren't guarantees, but they're grounded in what students in your income bracket have actually received at each school. That's a much better starting point than sticker price.
