The family portal: award letters, side by side
Parents get a read-only view of their student's progress, plus a comparison table for financial aid award letters when offers arrive.
By Thiago Cavalcanti
The family portal now covers the money conversation, not just the progress one. Students invite a parent by email, and the parent sees the college list, deadlines, and overall progress without being able to touch any of it. When award letters arrive in the spring, the portal lines them up side by side so families can compare real offers instead of squinting at five differently formatted PDFs.
Everything stays read-only, and essay drafts are never shared. The process belongs to the student; parents get the visibility they need to help.
