How Blueprint handles student records under federal education privacy law.

FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act) protects student education records. When a school or district uses Blueprint, we handle student records on the school's behalf and only for the educational purposes the school sets. Schools and districts can request a Data Processing Agreement by contacting support.
What this means
In practice this means schools keep control over the student data shared with Blueprint, and parents or eligible students (18 or older) may request to review or delete education records. Student data is only used for the educational purposes the school sets. We also provide data export and deletion capabilities on request.
Individual students signing up outside of a school partnership are not covered by FERPA (it applies to schools receiving federal funding). Your data is still protected by our privacy policy and terms of service.
